The garage at a persons home can have many uses. Aside from the obvious of weekend maintenance on the vehicles, a garage can be a well deserved outlet for a man or person to reconnect with themselves. Sure, the lawn mower, the toolbox, the cars are all there, but serious man cavers know how to see beyond the usual space simply known as the garage. Every neighborhood has a garage dedicated to something else besides a storage facility. The question of the day is, how can I make a dual purpose space that will satisfy both needs?

If you are lucky, your garage is a large enough space to have more than enough room to set up a proper man cave and still park the car or cars in it. If not, be creative and park the auto outside the garage while enjoying your new hideaway. Certain items will have to be implemented to pull off serious man cave status. First on the list would have to be a television, complete with either cable or satellite connection. This is very important for the weekends and proper NASCAR viewing. While hosting a NASCAR get together, ensure your man cave is adorned with items for your favorite driver. Banners, pictures, posters, and flags all work well for this.
Fold up chairs for your guests are another item to have plenty of. The beauty of these, are that you can fold them up and tuck them away when you are done using them. A refrigerator is another must have thing. Beverages, snacks, all types of cook out food will have to be on hand for the cook out that is certain to take place. What is a good get together without a cook out? Review your guest list and make sure the refrigerator has a favorite for everyone invited. A barbecue grill is another necessity, but as to whether this should be propane or charcoal is up to you. When cooking out, remember your safety training and keep a multi purpose fire extinguisher close at hand.
Trash cans should be strategically placed all around for an easy clean up. If not hosting a get together and a little tranquility is on the menu, find yourself a little project and enjoy the serenity offered from a well appointed man cave. Any project or get together always will go better with a little music in the background. Whether this is provided from a quality shelf radio, or a full out, in your face stereo complete with surround sound is entirely up to you. If pursuing the latter route, remember to be a good neighbor and keep the volume down to a low roar. Happy neighbors are good neighbors.
Complete the space with a couple of fans, and start enjoying your new retreat. The good thing about this project is that a transformation can take place on an extremely cheap budget. Who says that 5-star resorts are the way to go?
