If the car considered is used, collect all known history on the vehicle, including a CARFAX report. Consider this the next generation of buying a car.
Another excellent source for car buying is FSBO, or for sale by owner. Maybe you already know the person with the car and you know its history. Some people's car buying hunt will be longer than others. Some will find a car in a very short time. Whatever path you follow, chances are you will arrive at the same car buying conclusion.
