Review Of Honda Civic

The 2009 Honda Civic is a stylish, and comfortable vehicle that has plenty of passenger comfort and amenities. Despite still sporting the controversial two tiered dash design in 2009, the Civic has undergone other changes. Upgrades to the upholstery include matching seat and door and arm rest cloth trim, as well as improved seating design. Giving the Civic a sportier design, the steering wheel now has only 3 spokes. Choosing to stay with a winning design the outside of the 2009 Honda Civic remains virtually unchanged. The 2009 Honda Civic also sports a range of safety features and updated technologies that you would always expect from Honda.

First introduced in America around 1973, the Honda Civic is second to the Toyota Corolla in the American car market for Japanese cars. The first generation Civic had a four cylinder engine and disc brakes. This version of the Civic was offered as a coupe and a station wagon, in three and five door models. The gas shortage of the 1970's helped this compact car to become so successful.

Since the first generation, there have been seven more generations of the Honda Civic, for a total of eight. Each generation brings improvements in performance and safety, and the current generation of the Honda Civic, rated very well on the government crash tests. Rating five stars on the rear seat frontal and side impact crash tests, and rating four stars on the rollover and side frontal impact crash tests, gave the Honda Civic great credibility.

The Honda Civic has been the number one selling vehicle in Canada for the past ten years. In 2008, the Honda Civic became the number one selling vehicle in America, knocking the Ford F-150 off the top. This was largely due to a down economy and rising gas prices. Surely though, the future looks bright for the Honda Civic, for many more generations to come.
