Ford Flex

The Ford Flex is a very unique crossover vehicle that is equipped with seating for seven, and a V-6 engine with power to spare. The Flex is based on the design of the previous designs of Fords Fairlane models. The square body style of the Flex holds similar attraction to what the Fairline offered.

The inside of the Flex offers several options, such as a mini fridge and a middle console mounted between the second row seats. The second and third row seats fold down into the floor for more cargo area in the back. There are also removable and adjustable foot rests for the second row passengers. Flex also has the Ford Sync system in it. This system integrates the functions of cell phone, Sirius satellite radio, compact disc, DVD and other media players and navigation systems. It also has a built in hard drive for music and picture storage.

On the outside the flex has the signature Ford signature horizontal three bar chromed grill design. The pillars and windows appear blacked out and the roof is available in white, silver, or body matched colors. The 2009 Flex comes standard with 18 inch wheels, but 20 inch wheels are expected to be available later in production. The Flex is also equipped with a capless fuel system that provides a better seal against fuel evaporation.

One really cool option about the Flex, is that you can get a back up camera that gets mounted just above the rear bumper. This provides the driver with a perfect view of any obstructions in the way, when in reverse. The view from the camera displays on the eight inch navigation display screen. The Flex also comes standard with Ford's Advance Traction Control System. With its roll stability control, it helps drivers maintain control during any emergency situations and low traction conditions. Another safety option available for the Ford Flex is all wheel drive.

Finally what is most intriguing about the Flex, is that it comes with a 262 horse powered v6 engine, and a 6 speed automatic transmission, with a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds. With all things considered, the Ford Flex is an impressive crossover vehicle.
