Kia Sedona

The Kia Sedona is a reasonably priced minivan manufactured by Kia Motors. Many people like this mini van for its looks, but some buy it for the high ratings it has received in crash testing. Most people also opt for this vehicle for its price.

Kia first introduced the Sedona in 1999 in Australia, and called it the Kia Carnival. The Carnival had a 3.5 liter V6 engine, with a five speed automatic transmission. This early version of the Sedona lacked some of the things that other competitors had, such as power sliding doors, a power lift gate, fold flat third row seat and back up sensors. Over the years the Sedona has changed to a much more comparable van to that of its competitors. The 2006 model had many of the features of the competitors such as a 60/40 fold out seat, navigation system in some models, power sliding doors and a lift gate. The model also boasted the Hyundai LAMBDA engine consisting of a 3.8 liter v6 engine.

The Kia Sedona became an award winning vehicle in 2006-2007. It earned a five star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is the highest rating possible. The IIHS had given the "Gold Top Safety Pick" to the Sedona making it one of the safest ever tested. The Sedona has, in its short history, become one of the highest quality mini vans available, at a price that is moderately low for its vehicle type.

The future for the Kia Sedona lies in its 2009 model, and it's deemed to be the best model yet. This newer, sleeker van includes many features. For the engine, you will see a V6 cylinder and a 3.5L displacement double overhead cam. The comforts include 7 person total seating capacity seating, split-bench third row seats, both front and rear air conditioning and an in-dash single CD player with plenty of speakers all around. In addition, the safety features such as rear door child safety locks, child car seat anchors, and dusk sensing headlamps, the Kia Sedona does not disappoint with its quality.
