Nissan Altima

The Nissan Altima is a mid sized car that is sold in the North America and the Middle East. It has maintained steady popularity due to its reliability and sporty styling. It was originally created to be a medium-priced car, ranging between the economic Sentra and the more pricey Maxima. It has come a long way to become one of the most luxurious and well equipped vehicles in its class.

The Nissan Altima was first produced in 1993 as a remodel of the Nissan Bluebird. It originally came out as a compact vehicle, but it went through four different model generations, to where it is now a mid-size vehicle. It has gradually increased not only in size, but in luxury as well. While the original Altimas had the most basic, stripped down features such as manual windows, modern ones have extra features that are more commonly seen in luxury cars, such as intelligent keys and push button ignition.

The pros of the modern Nissan Altima are obvious. It has a powerful engine, a stunning array of extras, and a fuel mileage that is above par considering its performance. The most recent model is sporty and very popular among urban professionals who want a luxury car without the luxury price tag. However, many people feel that the larger engine is more than what the car needs. With this larger engine, it creates a lower fuel efficiency at a time where everybody is trying to cut the cost of living. However, while previous models had engine defects that created the need for costly repairs, the newly redesigned Altimas have proven themselves to be reliable and safe.

The Nissan Altima offers a hybrid car, which is expected to increase production in the coming years. Although a new model generation of the traditional Altima has not been announced, it is expected to replace the Primera in Europe. All together, the Nissan Altima has a promising future as America's next best sedan.
